The Exodus Overseer is a floating clockwork sentry of Exodus. Like the minion it hides behind a magical barrier, so you have to switch between magic and weapons to bring it down.

Overview

  • In-game name: an exodus overseer
  • Corpse: an overseer's corpse
  • Behavior: it attacks the nearest target it sees and fights in melee.
  • Bard skills: it can't be provoked, calmed with Peacemaking or discorded.
  • Scary to pets: if you order most pets to attack it, they refuse: "Your pet refuses to attack this creature!"

Abilities

Poison immunity

It is immune to all poison, so poisoned weapons, the Poison spell and poison potions do nothing to it.

Dispels summons

Any summoned creature that can be dispelled is destroyed instantly when it hits the exodus overseer in melee or the exodus overseer hits it. Blade spirits, energy vortexes, summoned elementals and daemons are wasted against it.

Magical barrier

It is surrounded by a magical field. While the field is up, melee and other physical damage does nothing ("Your weapon cannot penetrate the creature's magical barrier."), but spells hurt it. Once spells bring it below 90% of its hit points, the field drops: now spells do nothing and weapons work. The field comes back when it has healed to 90% (checked about every 10 seconds). Switch between magic and melee to match.

Loot

Every exodus overseer carries:

  • Gold: about 260–350 in total (from its "Rich" loot)
  • a power crystal (50%) or an arcane gem (50%)

It may also carry:

  • A magic weapon, armor piece or shield (up to 3 chances, from about 20% down to 1% each)
  • A musical instrument (about 1% or less)

The power crystals, arcane gems, clockwork assemblies and gears that Exodus constructs and golems carry are the parts a tinker needs to build a golem.

Carving

There's nothing to carve from its corpse.

Tips

  • Spells first, then weapons once the barrier drops; don't let it heal back above 90%.
  • Pets won't attack it and summons are destroyed by it.
  • Half of all overseers drop a power crystal.
