The Verite Elemental can destroy your equipment with its blows. One of eight ore elementals; each has its own page because their stats and special defenses differ a lot. See also dull copper, shadow iron, copper, bronze, golden, agapite, verite and valorite.
Overview
- In-game name: a verite elemental
- Corpse: an ore elemental corpse
- Behavior: it attacks the nearest target it sees and fights in melee.
- Bleed immune: bleed attacks (a weapon special New Bradford enables) don't affect it.

Abilities
Dispels summons
Any summoned creature that can be dispelled is destroyed instantly when it hits the verite elemental in melee or the verite elemental hits it. Blade spirits, energy vortexes, summoned elementals and daemons are wasted against it.
Destroys equipment
Each time it hits a player next to it in melee, there's a 5% chance it destroys one random equipped item that has durability and isn't blessed, newbied or insured: "Your <item> is destroyed by the attack."
Loot
Every verite elemental carries:
- Gold: about 260–350 in total (from its "Rich" loot)
- 2 random gems (amber, amethyst, citrine, diamond, emerald, ruby, sapphire, star sapphire or tourmaline)
- 2 verite ore (a pile; 25 if it rose from a gargoyle's pickaxe dig)
It may also carry:
- A magic weapon, armor piece or shield (up to 3 chances, from about 20% down to 1% each)
- A musical instrument (about 1% or less)
- A level 1 treasure map (1% chance)
Carving
There's nothing to carve from its corpse.
Location
- Mining with a gargoyle's pickaxe: when you mine with a gargoyle's pickaxe and the ore you dig up is the vein's main ore, there's a 10% chance a verite elemental rises next to you and attacks you. That elemental carries 25 verite ore instead of the usual 2. You need about 95 Mining to dig verite ore. Gargoyle's pickaxes drop from gargoyles, enslaved gargoyles, stone gargoyles, gargoyle enforcers and gargoyle destroyers.
Tips
- Don't wear gear you can't afford to lose, unless it's blessed or insured.
- Fight it at range to avoid its equipment destruction.
