The '''Shadow Fiend''' is a small, fragile shadow creature (28–33 hit points) that hits surprisingly hard (10–22) and '''steals from corpses'''. Anything it takes is lost when it dies.

== Overview ==
* '''In-game name:''' ''a shadow fiend''
* '''Corpse:''' none (deleted on death)
* '''Behavior:''' it attacks the nearest target it sees and fights in melee.
* '''Rummages corpses:''' from time to time it takes a random item from a corpse within 2 tiles (''*rummages through a corpse and takes an item*''). Loot your kills quickly near one.
* '''No corpse:''' its corpse disappears as soon as it dies.

== Special behaviors ==
* '''Destroys what it steals.''' It rummages through corpses like other scavengers, but when it dies its backpack is '''destroyed''' and its corpse is deleted, so nothing it took can be recovered.
* '''Reveals the hidden (once).''' 30 seconds after it appears, it reveals every hidden player within 3 tiles that it could harm. This only happens '''once''' (and again once after each server restart), not over and over.
* '''No corpse.''' It leaves no corpse and has no loot packs.

== Loot ==
It drops nothing: it has no loot packs, its corpse is deleted and its backpack is destroyed when it dies.

=== Carving ===
There's nothing to carve: it leaves no corpse.

== Tips ==
* Kill it before it reaches your kills' corpses, or the items it grabs are gone for good.
* Easy to kill: only 28–33 hit points.
* There's no reward for killing it except protecting your loot.
