The Ridable Llama is a peaceful llama you can ride. It's easy to tame and always obeys, but it tires out sooner than any other mount.
Overview
- In-game name: a ridable llama
- Corpse: a llama corpse
- Behavior: it leaves you alone unless you attack it, then fights in melee (animal AI).
- Corpse note: its corpse is named a llama corpse.

Skills
| Skill | Range |
|---|---|
| Tactics | 19.2–29.0 |
| Wrestling | 19.2–29.0 |
| Magic Resistance | 15.1–20.0 |
| Resistances and damage types (not used on New Bradford) | |
|---|---|
| The script also lists Age of Shadows resistances and damage types. New Bradford runs on Lord Blackthorn's Revenge combat rules, so these values have no effect in fights. They're shown here only for completeness. | |
| Damage types | 100% physical |
| Resistances | Physical 10–15, Fire 5–10, Cold 5–10, Poison 5–10, Energy 5–10 |
Taming
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum Animal Taming | 29.1 (below this you have no chance) |
| Control slots | 1 |
| Maximum owners | 5 (each previous owner makes it harder to tame) |
| Bonding | Yes |
| Rideable | Yes |
| Favorite food | Fruits and vegetables or grain and hay |
- Success chance. For a first-time tame, your chance of success at the end of an attempt rises by about 2% per skill point and reaches 100% at 79.0 skill. Every previous owner adds 6 points to the difficulty.
- Don't hurt it. If it takes any damage during your attempt, taming fails with "The animal is too angry to continue taming."
- Stay close. You must stay within 6 tiles of it and keep a clear path to it.
- Obedience. Once tamed, its taming requirement is 29.1 or lower, so it always obeys its owner.
- Re-taming. If you've owned this one before, taming it again always succeeds ("That wasn't even challenging.").
- After its first tame, its skills drop to 90% of their wild values, or 86% if it was paralyzed while you tamed it. Its stats don't drop.
Bonding
Only the owner can bond with a ridable llama. Its taming requirement is 29.1 or lower, so there's no Animal Taming requirement to bond. Feed it to start bonding, then feed it again after 7 days to finish. When you see "Your pet has bonded with you!", it's done.
Riding
Double-click your tamed ridable llama to ride it. It can run 2,560 steps before it gets too tired to move, compared with 3,840 for a horse. Only running counts (walking doesn't tire it unless you're overloaded), and it recovers 1 step per second while it isn't running.
Loot
It carries no loot.
Carving
Use a blade on the corpse to get:
- 1 raw ribs
- 12 hides, doubled to 24 in Felucca
Tips
- Taming starts at 29.1 and always succeeds from 79.0.
- It can only run 2,560 steps before it's too tired, two thirds of a horse's 3,840.
- It's fragile, with only 15–27 hit points.
- Carve the corpse for 1 raw ribs and 12 hides (24 in Felucca).
