Captcha
A captcha is a short picture puzzle that sometimes pops up while you're mining in New Bradford. It makes sure a real player is at the keyboard. Answer it correctly and you get the ore you just dug.
When you'll see one
Captchas appear only when you mine ore and only for colored metals:
| Metal you dug | Captcha? |
|---|---|
| Iron | Never |
| Dull copper | 15% of the time |
| Shadow iron and copper | 25% of the time |
| Bronze | 30% of the time |
| Gold | 50% of the time |
| Agapite | 80% of the time |
| Verite and valorite | Every time |
The window's title tells you what's at stake, for example Reward: Shadow Iron Ore. Until you answer, the ore isn't in your backpack yet.
The two kinds of captcha
Each captcha is picked at random from two types. Either way you get three items to choose from and only one is right.
Match the item
You're shown one item. Pick the item among the three choices that matches it.
Answer a question
You're asked a simple question and pick the one item that fits.
How to answer
- Click an item once to select it.
- Click it again to confirm your answer.
What happens next
| If you... | Result |
|---|---|
| Pick the right item | "That matches." or "That is correct." The ore goes into your backpack. If your backpack is full, the ore is lost. |
| Pick a wrong item | "That does not match." A new captcha appears for the same reward, so you can try again. |
| Close the window | "You were not rewarded." That ore is lost. |
| Log out with a captcha open | That ore is lost. |
While a captcha is waiting for an answer you can't dig again. Trying gives you "Solve the captcha before you mine again."
